A to Z Artistry will be hosting an art centered early childhood development program for children ages 3-5. Activities are designed to engage young creatives and encourage general and fine motor skill development. Parents are invited to stay and assist younger participants during these events but are also provided the option to check in and drop off. Doodle Jam friends will begin each session with a brief warm up activity. Each class will include books, songs, games and 1-2 art activities.

Get a line wet at Legacy Park Lake! This fishing derby provides children an introduction to sport fishing and the responsibility of caring for our natural resources. A fishing license is NOT required for kids fishing the derbies. Adults (16+) must have a valid Missouri fishing license to fish the lake. Bring your own rods and reels! Registration will include a free container of worms. All participants will be fishing from the shore or the fishing dock!
Your preregistration is requested. Derby prizes will be awarded for Girls and Boys biggest fish, smallest fish in age groups (2-6, 7-11, 12-16). Grand Prizes awarded to Overall smallest and Overall biggest fish. You have to be present to win the awards.
Fishing Derby Registration starts: 9:30AM to 10:30AM

Fishing Derby Awards: 11:45AM to 12:00PM

LSPR is hosting a Super Smash Brothers Tournament! Entry fee of $10 includes participation in double elimination tournament, pizza and drinks. Event takes place at Harris Park Community Center. Consoles & controllers provided by LSPR, but feel free to bring your own controller. Tournament is double elimination. Depending on enrollment tournament may be split into a beginner and advanced bracket.

LSPR is hosting a Mario Kart Tournament! Entry fee of $10 includes participation in pool play (depending on number of entries), double elimination tournament, pizza and drinks. Event takes place at Harris Park Community Center. Consoles & controllers provided by LSPR, but feel free to bring your own controller.

During this 3 hour workshop participants will make artwork inspired by local nature scenery. Each attendee will create 2 pieces of original artwork using a variety of artistic methods and materials. After the workshop has concluded artists between the ages of 5-14 will have the option to submit 1-2 pieces they made during the class to be put on display at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs from July through August. All artwork will be returned to students at the end of the show. After the show has concluded, art pick-up will occur on Tuesday evenings from 6PM-7PM in September.

All Pokémon TCG players. Come to Harris Park as Lee's Summit host its first Pokémon Play & Trade event. Take the opportunity to play a few games and swap cards with fellow Pokémon players. Play matches, trade cards or even just come to learn how to play. LSPR will even hook up our Nintendo switches to have even more way to come an play. Open all experience players. All trades must be approved by the event manager. The event manager will determine card value based on the price per TCG Player. Cost for entry to the event includes food & drink.

Please send a drink and a small snack with your child every day. If your child attends both the morning and afternoon camps on the same day, they can bring a lunch and stay during the lunch hour. If your child has a runny nose or a cough, please provide them with a mask. We ask this so that we can continue to serve as many families as possible this summer.

Jurassic Art Camp
Stomp on in and join us for this 3 day camp. We will travel back in time to create dinosaur art using a variety of media, including painting and sculpture. Your dinosaur lovers are sure to have a roaring good time!

Princess Art Camp
You are cordially invited to join us for Princess Art Camp! We will spend 3 days doing art based on everything royal. Your little prince or princess will love doing art based on famous characters. (Glass slippers not included.)

July 11th-12th
Outer Space Art Camp
Blast off with us as we explore outer space! Your camper will create out of this world art - including painting, drawing and more.

Blooms and Bugs Art Camp
This 2 day camp will feature art based on colorful insects, beautiful flowers, and things you can find in the garden. Campers will be painting, using chalks or oils, and more! This camp will be all the fun with none of the dirt!

July 15th-19th
Printmaking Art Camp
This 5 day camp will explore a variety of printmaking techniques. Campers will design their own stamps, create masterpieces using paint and ink, work with fabric and more!

July 22nd-23rd
Christmas in July Art Camp
The 2 day camp will have campers fa-la-loving Christmas art! We will paint, use chalks or oils and more! (This camp is different from our December Makers Camps in that we do not wrap these projects.)

Artsy Animals Art Camp
Our 2 day Artsy Animals Art Camp is always a favorite! We feature a variety of animals and multiple artistic methods including painting, mixed media, and more. Animal lovers of all ages are sure to enjoy this camp!

July 24th-26th
Polymer Clay (Sculpey) Art Camp
Polymer clay is always a favorite media to use with our campers, so we will spend 3 days making a variety of sculptures using polymer clay and an assortment of tools! Campers will learn several techniques and will bring home 3-4 miniature projects.

Ocean Breeze Art Camp
Our Ocean Breeze Camp will have us relaxing with the waves for 3 days! We will be focusing on beach projects such as painting a beach scene, creating an ocean scene or creature out of Sculpey clay and much more. All the fun of the beach with none of the sandy mess!

July 29th-August 2nd
Harry Potter Art Camp
Harry Potter is always one of our favorite camps. This week we will immerse ourselves in the magical world of Harry Potter. We will be making a wand, constructing and decorating our very own dragon hide journal, and making projects related to all things Harry Potter. If your child is a Harry Potter fan, no matter how many books or movies they have read or seen, they will certainly love to be a part of this camp.

August 5th-7th
Choose Your Own Art-Venture Art Camp
Join us for a brand new 3 day camp called “Choose Your Own Art-Venture”. This camp will offer a variety of projects for campers to choose from. Some of the options are birdhouses, painting on linen, and other projects from past camps. Each camper will have multiple choices and will leave with 3-4 projects, depending on the projects they choose.

Please send a drink and a small snack with your child every day. If your child attends both the morning and afternoon camps on the same day, they can bring a lunch and stay during the lunch hour. If your child has a runny nose or a cough, please provide them with a mask. We ask this so that we can continue to serve as many families as possible this summer.

Join us for our 5 day Anime Art Camp. We will be exploring different styles used by illustrators from cultures all over the world including, but not limited to, the classic stylings of Japanese origin. Kawaii, Chibi, and “standard” anime influences will be incorporated into daily lessons. Campers will also have the opportunity to develop a character study using designs from their own portfolio. Campers are allowed to bring a device for reference use only, A To Z Artistry will not be responsible for items. We will have some devices available for campers to use.

Junk Journal Art Camp
Join us for our brand new 5 day Junk Journaling Art Camp. Junk Journaling is a very popular hobby right now, and involves watercolor, chalks, writing, stamping and stickers. Each camper will get a journal to use and bring home.

This 3 day Pop Art event is curated for the “in-between” artist. Participants can look forward to attempting more advanced art making methods inspired by Pop Art legends such as Warhol, Haring and Basquiat.
